Types of FSSAI Registrations:
Fssai Basic Registration:
This registration is necessary for small businesses or startups such as small-scale food manufacturers, storage units, transporters, retailers, marketers, distributors, and others with an annual turnover below Rs. 12 lakhs. As your sales increase, you have the option to upgrade the Basic Registration to a State License.
Fssai State License:
This license applies to mid-sized companies including small to medium-sized manufacturers, storage units, transporters, retailers, marketers, distributors with an annual turnover ranging from Rs. 12-20 crores. It is mandatory to operate in only one state to obtain the State License, and it is issued by the respective State Government.
Fssai Central License:
This license is required for large businesses such as importers, 100% export-oriented units, large manufacturers, operators in Central Government agencies, airports, seaports, and others with an annual turnover exceeding Rs. 20 crores. The Central License is issued by the Central Government.
